ラニマル文字（Ranimal characters）とは、宮崎県の片山博文MZ（1979–）によって2013年に考案された、エル（L）を表音するための新しい文字の集合である。

ラの行の文字の右上に小さな丸を付けて、エルの音を表す。ラニマル文字を以下に示す。

日本人学生に対する英語の授業で、これらのラニマル文字を使うことにより、エルの音を正確に理解させることができると考えられる。

The Ranimal characters is a set of new Japanese phonetic characters, invented by Katayama Hirofumi MZ (Miyazaki, of Japan, 1979–) in 2013, in order to notate L-sounds. The preexistent Japanese phonetic characters could not distinguish between R-sounds and L-sounds.

Ranimal (or RANIMARU) means ''circle to RA'' in Japanese. The Ranimal characters can be gained by adding a small circle at upper right corner of each Japanese R's phonetic character. I think that these characters are useful for English education of Japanese students.
